A reporter called me once to ask, "What is your response to a report that says face-to-face diet programs work better than online diets?"
My response is: If you don’t use it, you can’t lose it.
The report in question described a study that gave 23 people eDiets memberships, and compared them to a similar number of people utilizing a printed manual including a structured lesson plan. The conclusion was that the group of eDiets members, unfortunately, did not log on regularly or consistently, and over the year did not weigh in weekly. They lost less weight over the year than those following the printed manual’s lesson plans. The authors of the study were surprised, because they thought that with all the support available on eDiets.com, members would do better. But I’m not surprised, because if you don’t use it, you can’t lose it.
