52. High-fiber Crackers Fat Burning Index = 1.71

Serving Size: 8

Nutrition per serving with wheat bran:

55 calories
3.6 g fat
0.5 g sat.
5.2 g carb
3.9 g fiber
1.8 g protein

Ingredients

5 Tbs sesame seeds
1 Tbs poppy seeds
1 Tbs caraway seed
1 Tbs dill seed -- crushed
3 Tbs Thicken Thin not/Starch thickener
1/4 tsp salt
pepper -- to taste
1/4 tsp onion powder
2 Tbs wheat bran
1/2 c water

Preheat oven to 400°F. Cover the baking pan with parchment paper, foil, or greased waxed paper. (Waxed paper is not really intended for oven use, but you can often get away with it).

Combine dry ingredients. Stir in the water to make batter, and spread evenly over the baking pan. Make sure the edges are at least as thick as the center -- thicker is okay, because the edges bake faster than the center.

Bake at 400°F for 20-25 minutes until fairly dry and set, or until the edges start to get brown. At this point, the center is likely to be a bit damp, but it's also just minutes away from developing an over-browned flavor. So turn down the oven (off, if the oven is well-insulated) and let it finish drying out. (If you want crackers, score it into sections at this time). Once the top is dry, remove the parchment. If the underside is damp, return it to the oven to dry out for a few minutes more.
